Odyssey Putters Roll to Three Worldwide Tournament Wins; Callaway Golf's CTU 30 Ball Claims Another Tour Victory

CARLSBAD, Calif., Mar 25, 2002 (BW SportsWire) -- Odyssey(R) Putters were used to win three international PRO tour events yesterday. This marks the fifth straight week that putters made by Odyssey Golf, a brand of Callaway Golf (NYSE: ELY), have been used to win professional events. According to the Darrell Survey and Sports Marketing Surveys, Odyssey Putters are No. 1 in usage across the world's six major professional tours combined. Odyssey Golf also leads all putter brands with 11 putter wins across the PGA, Senior PGA, LPGA, Buy.com, PGA European and Japan Golf tours combined this year, through March 24.

Odyssey Golf's three most recent wins came on the LPGA, PGA European and Japan Golf tours. The winner of the Welch's Circle K Championship used an Odyssey Dual Force(R) Mallet Putter for the first victory of her LPGA Tour career, clinching the win with a six-foot par save on No. 17 and a two-putt birdie at the final hole. Odyssey Putters have now been used to win each of the three LPGA Tour events played in 2002.

The winner of the Madeira Island Open on the PGA European Tour used an Odyssey White Hot(R) 7 Putter, a CTU 30(TM) Red ball and Big Bertha(R) Hawk Eye(R) VFT(R) Series Titanium 3-wood. The champion needed only 25 putts over the final round to claim a one-stroke victory. Meanwhile, the winner at the DyDo Drinco Shizuoka Open on the Japan Golf Tour used an Odyssey White Hot 4 Putter. Stephen Ames and Rocco Mediate, both Callaway Golf Staff Professionals, finished second and third, respectively, at The Players Championship. This was Mediate's second consecutive top-5 finish on the PGA Tour.

On the LPGA Tour, Callaway Golf Staff Professional Annika Sorenstam earned her second consecutive top-10 finish with a tie for seventh at the Welch's Circle K Championship.
