LPGA Tour Champion Also Relies on Callaway Golf Clubs

The new ERC(R) Fusion(R) Driver from Callaway Golf (NYSE:ELY) recorded its fourth win in as many weeks as the winner of the European Tour's Aa St Omer Open used the technologically-advanced driver -- plus a full complement of the Company's equipment -- in his one-stroke victory yesterday at the St-Omer Golf Club. The winner also carried a Steelhead(R) Plus Strong 3-wood and a Big Bertha(R) 5-wood, Steelhead(R) X-16(R) Pro Series Irons, Odyssey(R) White Hot(R) 2-Ball Putter, Callaway Golf Forged Wedges and the HX(R) Tour Golf Ball. The victor at the LPGA ShopRite Classic also used an assortment of Callaway Golf equipment, including the Great Big Bertha(R) II 415 Driver, Steelhead X-16 Irons, Big Bertha Fairway Woods and an Odyssey(R) White Hot(R) 2-Ball Putter.

Callaway Golf had a total of 91 drivers in play at the St Omer Open with the highest driver count for any one brand at a European Tour event since April of 1998. Led by the 39 ERC Fusion Drivers in play, there were also 33 Great Big Bertha II 415 Drivers, 10 Great Big Bertha II Pro Series Drivers, six Great Big Bertha II Drivers and three Big Bertha Drivers, giving the Company a European Tour season-high 58 percent of the total driver count.

The dominance of Callaway Golf equipment also was reflected on the leaderboard, where six of the top 10 finishers used Callaway Golf drivers, five played the Company's HX Tour Golf Ball, and five of the top seven used Odyssey putters.

In the fairway wood category, there were 97 Callaway Golf models in play -- 51 percent of the total. In irons, the 43 total sets of Callaway Golf irons were led by 31 sets of Steelhead X-16 Pro Series -- the #1 model in the field. And in putters, Odyssey led the way with 77 of the 156 players choosing the Odyssey brand. There also were 18 Callaway Golf putters in play.

At the LPGA event, Callaway Golf won the iron, woods (by a 2-to-1 margin) and putter counts. In Japan, where the Company has also dominated all year, Callaway Golf won the driver, fairway wood and putter counts at the Japan Golf Tour Organization's Mandom Lucido Yomiuri Open. Callaway Golf ranks #1 in all three of those categories, as well as in irons, in 2004.
