Carlsbad, CA, September 5, 2000 – Callaway Golf Company (NYSE:ELY) announced today that Larry Dorman has been promoted to the position of Senior Vice President, Global Press and Public Relations. Mr. Dorman has been a Vice President with the Company since 1997. His new position reflects the global scope of his press and public relations capabilities, and emphasizes the growing vital role the company expects Mr. Dorman’s expertise to play in light of the Company’s recent international expansion.

Prior to joining Callaway Golf, Mr. Dorman, age 49, was the Golf Correspondent for the New York Times from 1992-1997 and a Contributing Editor to Golf Digest. An award-winning writer whose work has appeared in publications worldwide, Mr. Dorman also is a past President of the Golf Writers Association of America.
